New Apparatus
Fire District No. 2 Takes Delivery of Eight New Emergency Response Vehicles.
Fire District No. 2 has taken delivery of eight new emergency response vehicles including; four fire engines, two water tenders, and two four wheel drive wildland engines. The total cost for all of the equipment was $2,271,366.00 and was purchased using general obligation bonds.
The new fire engines cost $400,077.00 each and include features that the older fire engines did not have. The new engines have an on board foam tank and foam eduction system. The foam eduction system mixes foam and water at the fire pump and sends the mixture through the fire hoses. This foam water mixture increases the extinguishing capabilities of the water and allows water to soak more deeply into charred wood.
